Dear Cinema Community,

CINE 648 “Screenplay Revising” has seats available for Spring 2021.  This is an ADVANCED SCREENWRITING course that is open to SENIORS or Graduate students in Cinema.  It has the following major prerequisites:   Foundation courses, Cine 450 and ONE ADDITIONAL 400 or 600 level Screenwriting Course (in which you wrote and completed a script you now wish to revise.) (Graduate students – 701 or 755 or Instructor Consent).

This course is INSTRUCTOR CONSENT.  Please contact Professor Sjogren at britta@sfsu.edu if you are interested and have met the prerequisites.

This is a great class for students who have done a draft of a short film to refine it so that it is ready for production, or for those who have done a first draft of a feature to do a significant rewrite.

Bulletin description of class:

CINE 648: Restructure and revise a screenplay written in a previous class. Enhance story craft, acquire strategies for rewriting, and refining the clarity of script premise, characters, etc. Production of a polished work that can be submitted to competitions and serve as a writing portfolio upon graduation. Advanced writing course. May be repeated for a total of 6 units. (Plus-minus letter grade only)
