Documentary students selected to make films in Jerusalem

Tuesday, August 15, 2017 - 18:50

Capping off this year’s focus on Women in Film, Cinema students Michelle Blue and Boyoung Rachel Kim spent 6 weeks this summer developing their creative talents in Israel—with all expenses paid courtesy of the Jerusalem Film Workshop and the Jewish Film Institute. Michelle and Rachel worked collaboratively with 20 young filmmakers from 14 different countries to create a series of short documentaries on local topics such as immigration, LGBTQ rights and graffiti artists. The films screened at the highly regarded Jerusalem Film Festival in July alongside this year’s Cannes, Tribeca and Sundance nominees and winners.
