Professor Joseph McBride to be Keynote Speaker at Ford Symposium in Ireland

Professor Joseph McBride (newly promoted to that rank by SFSU) will give the keynote address again this year at the second annual John Ford Ireland Film Symposium in Dublin, sponsored by the Irish Film & Television Academy.

Professor McBride's June 8 address will be on "John Ford, His Old Friend Abraham Lincoln, and the Better Angels of Our Nature." He will be discussing Ford's YOUNG MR. LINCOLN and other Ford films dealing with Lincoln and also Steven Spielberg's recent film LINCOLN. Professor McBride is the author of acclaimed biographies of Ford and Spielberg and has taught courses on both filmmakers at SFSU.
