  • Responding to inquiries from prospective students
  • Prepping application prior to submission opening date 
  • Coordinating admissions committee of faculty & advanced M.F.As

  • Managing admits & waitlists
  • Coordinating enrollment with Division of Graduate Studies

M.F.A. Curriculum Administrator 

  • Coordinating implementation of revamped curriculum, ensuring collaboration between classes & professors 
  • Advising students on curricular requirements & providing curricular guidance
  • Communicating with Division of Graduate Studies re courses & regulations
  • Signing student-initiated paperwork
  • Coordinating educational field trips
  • Coordinating student assessments

M.F.A. Engagement Administrator 

  • Coordinating intake, orientation & welcome party for incoming students
  • Coordinating thesis screenings
  • Boosting applications / increasing enrollment
  • Coordinating Grad Preview (fall semester)
  • Designing & distributing promo materials for new curriculum
  • Seeking press opportunities 
  • Coordinating external speakers, screenings & Q&As
  • Managing program funds 

M.A. Administration Committee

M.A. Admissions

  • Responding to inquiries from prospective students
  • Liaising with Katrina Echon (Grad Division) as needed (re: deadline extensions, missing paperwork, late admission, etc.)
  • Monitoring “in progress” M.A. applications and communicating with prospective students to encourage them to complete the paperwork
  • Coordinating admissions committee meetings and admission votes
  • Evaluating applications
  • Managing admits, deferrals, and waitlists
  • Advising international students on visas, language requirements, work restrictions, etc.
  • Reviewing and updating the auto-admit list for Noah Price/Sophie Clavier (assuming this initiative continues)
  • Coordinating enrollment with Grad Division

M.A. Curriculum 

  • Communicating Fall course requirements (700, 852) to incoming first-year students
  • Advising continuing students on maintaining status, curricular requirements & providing curricular guidance
  • Communicating with Division of Graduate Studies (Mariana Jurado) re: courses & regulations
  • Communicating with students about important Fall deadlines (PCE and ACT forms) and Spring deadlines (graduation, thesis work, etc.)
  • Signing student-initiated paperwork (ACT, PCE, name change or committee member change forms)
  • Working with Program Director and M.F.A. Committee on GA/GTA/ISA assignments

M.A. Engagement 

  • Coordinating intake, orientation, and welcome party for incoming students
  • Boosting applications / increasing enrollment
  • Coordinating Grad Preview (Fall semester)
  • Organizing social events
  • Providing advice and institutional/administrative support for the grad conference (Spring semester)
  • Seeking press opportunities 
  • Managing program funds (discretionary fund, Marcus graduate stipends, etc.) 
  • Approving paperwork for student conference travel (funded by LCA and/or Marcus discretionary fund)
